tattoo ritual, divination, song

about

my name is julz bolinayen. i am a queer femme-of-center trans/non-binary creative and healer. i am partially deaf/hard-of-hearing and learning ASL. i descend from a line of islanders who are seers, diviners, land stewards, weavers, herbalists, and energyworkers. in this realm, i know my most current ancestors to be ilokano from the island of northern luzon in the archipelago of what is now known as the philippines.  though i've been migratory through my life thus far, the ocean is home for me wherever i go, and currently i reside on the island of o'ahu in the kingdom of hawai'i.

i've always been highly sensitive since i was a child, and finally accepted my path to healing in 2011 and have been on this journey ever since. i was initiated as a *hilot binabaylan in 2020 at the hilot academy of binabaylan under luntiang aghama. i specialize in *hilot through tattoo ritual, divination, serenade, energy healing, and death doula-ship.

i have guided, felt and seen the powerful impact of ancestral healing traditions on others’ bodies and souls—and my own. as a survivor of CSA and domestic violence, i’ve experienced profound healing through ceremony, such as ritual scarification, trauma-informed tattooing, non-western traditional bodywork, and grief ritual. my elders, teachers and mentors have performed healing rituals that have impacted how i provide services to my clients. these transformative experiences inspire me to move with integrity and provide high quality care for my community.

my purpose is to support you in living your most authentic life. in order to do so, i work with various mediums rooted in ancestral healing practices to support you in unblocking, transformation, and empowerment. through healing intergenerational trauma, releasing grief, and reclaiming our bodies, it is my belief we will all experience joy, harmonious holistic health, and ultimately freedom—with the grace and guidance of Lakapati, our trans/third gender deity of the philippines.
